I think the high gas prices are turning out to be a good thing.

People are starting to carpool more, buy cars that are more fuel efficient, ride the bus or take the train, even driving less. This is great.

Its sad though that people on tight budgets are having the worst trouble, while people who can afford it are still driving around with big hummers. Also the increase in cost for many items is bad too, because transportation costs are driving up prices.

It would have been nice that everyone cut back on driving voluntarily, but nothing really gets done unless money is involved.

Yeah, It is a good thing but then again it might not.

You see, today's modern society rely mostly on cars because at some point of peoples life they will drive a car. But still I agree with your statement.

Where I am at, the cost of food and other goods have gone up due to transportation cost. Many people are struggling and with heating season coming, a lot of people will be trying to make due and keep their house temps to 55 degrees. Nights when it's -40, I really don't know if people will be able to afford heating oil.

 Too bad the tax is so high on heating fuels.
